The Benefice of Atworth with Shaw and Whitley
It is wonderful that you have found us online! We are one worshiping community that share two beautiful Church buildings. Our community is made up of people from all ages and backgrounds, from our beautiful villages and further afield. We are a Church who welcomes everyone, and believes that God's desire is that all would know His love through Jesus. We seek to love and serve our local community and be a witness to this incredible love and hope.
We know that coming through the doors for the first time can seem daunting. Whatever your worries may be, we hope that you will give it a try! You will discover that we are all muddling through life but with the knowledge that we are never alone, always deeply loved and that lives can be transformed with God. When you come to Church you discover an extended family.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is Good; His love endures forever."
1 Chronicles 16:34
Our leadership team and PCCs have worked hard to ensure that both St Michael's and Christ Church are safe places for you to come and worship.
Our public worship has resumed, please see the 'Services' page for more information.
We would love you to come to Church and worship with us. To help us all keep safe please follow these rules when visiting our Churches:
Please keep social distancing rules when outside, you may have to queue to get in to the building.
A Church Warden will greet you at the door, take you to our sanitising station and seat you to ensure social distancing is kept inside the Church.
Currently no singing will take place but we will use music in other ways to free our praise!
At the end of the service a Church Warden will steward to guide everyone to exit the building keeping social distancing in place.
This is very different to usual but all of this will be done with a very warm greeting, lots of smiles and we will get used to this! We look forward to welcoming you on Sundays.
The Benefice of Atworth with Shaw and Whitley takes its responsibilities surrounding the safeguarding of children, young people, and adults who may be at risk very seriously, and works in partnership with the Diocese of Salisbury to ensure that we work in accordance with best practice at all times.
